Community Impact

Our services are available to anyone in the community and surrounding communities,  who is experiencing, or who has experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant. To ensure everyone receives the support they need, we provide our services free of charge. Our certified birth and bereavement companions are trained to provide emotional support that extends beyond the needs of the families at the hospital. Our companions assist families navigating the health care system as well as provide resources to assist making informed decisions.

Empty Arms relies entirely on donations to fund the invaluable work we do. Your gift will immediately be put to work assisting us in supporting pregnancy and infant loss families in and around Saskatoon.

Our Philosophy

Our mission is providing support to individuals and families that experience grief and bereavement due to the loss of a child during pregnancy or up to the age of 6. Our vision is a future in which individuals and families who experience perinatal loss receive the best comprehensive care and support during each stage of bereavement and throughout their grief process.

Programs and Services

The following services are provided free of charge: Support from a certified birth and bereavement companion; Supported use of a CuddleCot ™; Photography (maternity, newborn, and end-of-life); Memory Making options and mementos; Lactation information; Postpartum information and support; Neonatal end-of-life services; Monthly in-person support groups; Online support groups; One-on-one peer mentoring; Lending Library; Family member specific resources (sibling, grandparent, etc.)
