More about us

Community Impact

By offering two free meals per day, 365 days of the year, we aim to decrease the stress, burden and life disruptions caused by hunger. This allows our neighbors in need to focus on other emergent needs. Our impact is qualitative, with many stories and testimonials from guests articulating their gratitude. We know food security is only one measure in an over-arching poverty reduction strategy.

Financial Breakdown

We rely on community partnerships and support to deliver our free daily meal service. Financial donations help offset the costs of offering the meal program, including receiving, processing and preparing reclaimed food resources, engaging the help of volunteers, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests, volunteers and staff.

Our Philosophy

Through our free meal service and a variety of programs, both internal, and community-based, Friendship Inn aims to create a responsive, compassionate and belonging environment for our guests. We serve vulnerable people in our city’s core neighborhoods, including low income households, families and seniors and strive to ensure food security needs are met.
